About SCM Blog

Everything in the universe goes by indirection. There are no straight lines.
These words by Ralph Waldo Emerson pretty much sum up the world of Supply Chain Management too. My name is Ayush Sharma and Supply Chains are my passion.

As much as we try to bring order into our daily life, we end up being more supplemented by chaos than ever before. Among all this chaos, Supply Chain Management is disorder of a different kind. It is the epitome of indirection - the epitome of chaos. This world is undergoing tremendous change because of a wide variety of issues. As we stand today, we have witnessed a tremendous change in its economic landscape. Climate change, Global Warming and a whole new array of issues promise to change the way we do business - and more importantly for the readers of this blog, the way we run our supply chains. Sustainability is becoming a bigger issue every passing day and I can't help but notice that we're on the brink of tremendous change.

SCM blog seeks to capture and record each of these events  that relate to Supply Chain Management. As the blog progresses, the question I'd like to ask is "What's the next wave in Supply Chain Management? What is going to be the next big thing we all have to watch out for?" As history has taught us, it is not going to be a static goal but a moving target that we're going after.

What you'll read: Interesting tidbits, analyses and news related to Supply Chain Management. This brings in the whole gamut of topics which you can see in the tag cloud to your right. I try to analyze situations while I write. Like with all analyses, dialog and collaboration bring about improvement. Likewise, we all will benefit from meaningful engagement. Feel free to post comments on topics that affect you in everyday.
